Open Question: Need some tipcs on new cat?

Hello guys, Due to a most positive suggestion, I just returned home bearing my new cat! So now I'm curious about things, here are some questions: How long should we keep her isolated in one room? (thats what the councelor said to do) What do cats do to show that they're hungry/sleepy/sick/need to pee? Anybody recommend a Vet in the Hartford area of CT? Thanks for taking the time to read this!
