Voting Question: My band is looking for music venues to play at?

I've been playing in this band for about a year now and we're really looking for some places to play live. We've recorded a 6 song demo and really want to start playing live. We all live in the Agawam, MA/ Hartford, CT area and aren't entirely sure how to go about getting our first gigs. If anyone here knows of any actual places, not just the search engines that I've spent days going through, we'd really appreciate it!! Thanks so much.
